Obituary for Walter H. Krumwiede, Iroquois County, Illinois Ex-Buckley village board member dies A lifelong Buckley resident, Walter H. Krumwiede, 72, died at 5:45 p.m. Sunday at Mercy Hospital. Funeral services at 2 p.m. Thursday at the St. John's Lutheran Church, Buckley, with the Rev. James E. Brammeier officiating. Burial at cemetery in Buckley. Visitation Wednesday afternoon and evening at the Ford Baier Funeral Home, Buckley. He was born on March 31, 1901, to August and Louise Wolf Krumwiede, Buckley. He married Emma Bleich, on June 26, 1926, in Thawville. Krumwiede, a carpenter, grew up in Buckley and attended the St. John's Lutheran school. He later became a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church and served as a church elder for nine years. Krumwiede was active in town affairs. He was a village board member for 11 years, a member of the Sportsman's club and played on the Buckley Dutchmasters baseball team for 20 years. He is survivied by his wife, Emma; one daughter, Mrs. Verda Dippel, Buckley; two grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Elsie Balk, Buckley. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sisters.
