Old and overgrown.On a bluff overlooking the Big Muddy 
River,on the North bank.About 1/4 mile south of Hwy 
149,between Murphysboro and Desoto.The property is either 
owned or farmed by the Heiple family.The oldest stone 
belongs to Stephen Kelley d.May6 1847 a Black Hawk Indian 
War Vet.There are a few no name markers bearing the 
inscription G.A.R. These are Union grave markers at first 
look one would they were wooden posts drove into the 
ground.Other names are Maxey and Collier.This ground lies 
between Beaucoup Creek and the Big MuddyRiver
