Colorful outdoor ceremonies marked the commencement, and Colonel James L. Daniel, Jr., Commanding Officer, presented silver pilot wings to the graduating class. Son of Mr. & Mrs. David C. HARNAGLE of Jacob. Lt. HARNAGLE is a graduate of Murphysboro Township High School. He was employed as an office manager by a Dallas, Texas, firm when he enlisted in the armed service September 8, 1941. He was accepted for aviation cadet training December 1, 1942, and completed primary and basic schools before entering the advanced flying school at Napier Field.
