Warren MILLER of Granite City Wednesday en route to Alto Pass to visit Reedy MILLER. Frank R. SMITH of Carbondale, spent Tuesday in this city on business. George DAMMERON of Willisville is visiting relatives in this city over the weekend. Homer CLELAND of this city who went to St. Louis several days ago returned home Tuesday. Miss Emma SNOOK of Cutler, Ill., passed thro this city Wednesday to Alto Pass to visit friends. Robert MARSHALL of East Murphysboro, who has been ill for some time, remains quite ill. Mrs. Josephine STONE of this city went to Alto Pass Wednesday to visit relatives. Mary Kathleen HOLPERN of Also Pass is visiting Mr. & Mrs. John PIGOTT of North 23rd Street. Mrs. Annie LITCHTAKER and children of Cypress, Ill. were business visitors in this city Tuesday. Ed HERRIN of Wall Street who has been visiting relatives in Chicago returned home Wednesday. Miss Frances MILEUR of this city went to DuQuoin Wednesday to spend the week end with relatives. E. B. LIDIKAY of Vergennes, who has been ill, was removed to the home of his sister in St. Louis Tuesday. Mrs. Lillie BOUDEN and daughter, Dorothy of Grimsby were business visitors in this city Wednesday. Willis CARTER of Mt. Carbon who was injured at the Silica Plant several days ago is getting along nicely. The Foreign Missionary Society of the First M.E. Church will be postponed uintil the first Friday in February. C. R. HOLPERN of Also Pass who has been visiting John PIGOTT of North 23rd Street returned to his home Wednesday. John H. JOHNSTON and Berard HERRIN of Wall Stret who have been visiting relatives in St. Louis returned home Wednesday. Harry VONIER student at the University of Illinois is visiting home folks in Campbell Hill and friends in Murphysboro. Dr. BLANCHARD of Creal Springs who has been visiting his brother, Dr. A. J. BLANCHARD of this city returned to his home Wednesday. Mrs. B. E. CHEATMAN who has been visiting Mrs. Tom CHEATMAN of Edith Street returned to her home in East St. Louis Wednesday. Almus POLSGROVE of Tupelo, Miss., returned home Wednesday after spending several days with James WEATHERLY of this city. James WILSON and daughter, Lillian of Tamms returned home Wednesday after visiting Mr. and Mrs. Harry WILSON of Division Street. Mrs. E. Miss Rachel WYNN, who has been a patient at St. Andrews hospital the last two weeks, will be removed to her home on SOuth 11th Street New Year's Day. Mesdames H. Miss Mignonette MINTON of St. Louis is visiting relatives in Pine Street. W. J. O'CONNELL, who has been ill, is able to be up again. Mrs. H. E. WILBURN of DeSoto spent Tuesday in this city visiting relatives. Miss Iva PARKINSON of Gorham spent several hours in Murphysboro Wednesday morning on business. Mrs. Deniza FREEMAN and son Gussie of Jacob passed through this city Wednesday en route to Carbondale to visit relatives. Samuel BASTIEN of this city who has been visiting relatives in St. Louis the last several days returned home Tuesday. Mr. & Mrs. Elmer KNIGHT of Carbondale are visiting her parents, Mr. & Mrs. A. BEGGEMAN of South Legion Way. Mr. & Mrs. August SHERMAN of this city went to St. Louis Wednesday to visit over the weekend with relatives. Miss Luella ZIEBORD of Red Bud, arrived in this city Wednesday to spend New Year's with Miss Bill McCANN of West Walnut Street. Kay JOHNSON of Lyeric, Ohio, who is visiting relatives in Ava passed through this city Tuesday en route to DuQuoin to visit relatives. Miss Mary TONNIS who has been visiting her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Tom ROWLING of Harrison, returned to St. Louis Wednesday noon. Mrs. E. J. THURMAN, who has been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank HEINRICH of this city, returned to her home in St. Louis Wednesday. Mary Margaret GLENN daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie GLENN of Champaign is the guest of her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence GLENN. Mrs. Mary JOHNSON of Creal Springs passed through this city Wednesday en route to Sand Ridge to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James JOHNSON. George JOHNSON of Ava passed through this city Tuesday en route to DuQuoin to visit his old home town. This is the first visit Mr. Johnson has made in 50 years. Mrs. Carrol SICKLER and daughter June of Grimsby spend Wednesday in this city shopping. Mrs. Elmer O'DELL and son Kenneth of St. Louis who have been visiting relatives in Vergennes, returned home Wednesday. Mrs. M. AMOS and son June, who have been visiting Mr. & Mrs. Frank HERMAN of this city, returned to their homein St. Louis Wednesday. Prof. Chas. UTERMOEHLEN received a telegram Wednesday morning from his wife's sister, Mrs. E. D. EDWARDS OF Decherd, Tenn., stating her husband had died Wednesday morning at 2 o'clock. No other details were given. On account of the Professor's condition they will not be able to attend the funeral. Prof. UTERMOEHLEN is much improved and will be able to teach in a few days. Will FIELDING and family visited his mother Mrs. Mary FIELDING who is sick at her home in Murphysboro Saturday. Mr. & Mrs. J. V. HUGHES visited their son, Charlie, and family in Murphysboro Thursday. Mrs. Mike DILLINGER and children of Carbondale, were guests of her mother, Mrs. John HENRY, a few days last week. Miss Irene BOYCE of Murphysboro, has been visiting her aunt, Mrs. W. E. PHIFER.
