F. MILLER of Kansas City, Mo., are visiting the former's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. & Mrs. Grant YOUNG. They expect to visit with Mr. & Mrs. Thomas L. MILLER, Carbondale, W. W. MILLER, Herrin and Mr. & Mrs. Lawrence MYERS, Grand Chain, before returning to Kansas City next weekend. Mr. & Mrs. Charles H. HALE are guests at the home of Mr. & Mrs. A. E. HART at 611 North Fourteenth street this week. Mr. & Mrs. HALE are from Chattanooga. He is employed in a large paper mill there. Mr. & Mrs. Orland ATKINS of Zeigler were in Murphysboro Monday visiting at the home of her father, William TAYLOR, of Harrison. Mrs. Corliss WILLIAMS is visiting her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. & Mrs. Gilbert STONE and family in Cairo, Ill., this week. Charles PAREE from Hammond, Ind., underwent an operation at St. Andrew's hospital for a tonsillectomy. Orville C. GRAMMAR, S 2/c, is now stationed in California. His address is: U.S.S. Cowpens, Division B., U.S.N. Air Station, Alameda, Calif. Mrs. J. G. HAMMEL has returned to her home on Sixteenth street after a visit with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. & Mrs. R. E., DAVIS and family in Evansville, Indiana. Mr. & Mrs. Harold SPENCER of Gloversville, New York, are spending their vacation here with relatives and friends. Mrs. SPENCER is the former Miss Ruby TUCKER. Mrs. Henry ANDERSON of Portsmouth, Ohio, is here visiting her parents, Mr. & Mrs. I.K. LEVY. Mrs. ANDERSON is a former resident of Murphysboro. House guests at the June B. HOWELL home on South Fourteenth street are Mr. & Mrs. Lease RUDDICK of Centralia, Ill., Mrs. Frank STADT of DuQuoin and Mrs. Howard STEIN of Ashley, Ill. Miss Fanny LEWIS, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Fletcher LEWIS, who is attending the Illini Girls State, may be written to in care of this address: Ennis City, Sheehe County Illini Girls State, Jacksonville, Ill. Richard REEVES visited friends and relatives here over the weekend. Richard recently received his discharge at Great Lakes after being in the service thirty-four months. Miss Marian HAUSER has returned home after a three week vacation in California and parts of Texas. While on the west coast Miss HAUSER visited relatives and friends. She has resumed her duties as dental assistant for Dr. H. W. WILLIS.
