Mrs. Rose HOLCUMBRING of Gorham was a business visitor in Murphysboro today. Mrs. Alfred KELLY of Ava was a business visitor in Murphysboro this morning. Mrs. Bert GALE of Gorham transacted business in Murphysboro today. L. F. TIPPETT of Carbondale was a business visitor in Murphysboro today. Miss Eva MILLIKIN of Carbondale transacted business in this city today. Mrs. Aubrey IGO, and daughter, Mary, of Mt. Vernon, spent yesterday in Murphysboro with friends. Mr. & Mrs. E. J. KEOUGH of Chicago are in Murphysboro visiting Mrs. KEOUGH's mother, Mrs. S. B. McNEILL. Mrs. Irma KEOUGH left yesterday for Camp Phillips, Kan., where she will join her husband, Pvt. Max KEOUGH, who is stationed there. Oliver MILLER, who recently received a medical discharge from the army has been in a veterans' hospital in Marion this week. Wiley WAYNE of North Chicago, has been called home due to the serious illness of hi smother, Mrs. Sam LAYNE. Andrew G. WOLL of Chicago is visiting relatives in Murphysboro. Mrs. WOLL and son, Gary Wayne, have visited here for two weeks. First Sgt. E. M. DeWITT, who is stationed at Camp Pickett, is home on a 15-day furlough visiting with his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Tom DeWITT OF 1833 Elm Street. T/Sgt. William WOLFF, stationed at Macon, Ga., is home on furlough visiting his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Anton WOLFF and family of North street. Mrs. George W. TEMPLE and daughter, Shirley, went to St. Louis Wednesday and were accompanied home by their son and brother, Lt. Richard R. TEMPLE, who will spend a furlough here. Cpl. & Mrs. Robert H. SMITH returned Tuesday from Atlanta, Ga., where Cpl. SMITH was stationed at Georgia Tech. He received a medical discharge due to the higher vision requirements set up by the Army August 1. Miss Arkie Lee PRATT is spending a week with her parents, Mr. & Mrs. A. L. PRATT before assuming her teaching duties in St. Louis.
