Henry SHRADER held open house Saturday evening, June 22, from 8 to 10 o'clock at their home on Thompson street, Carbondale, in celebration of their silver wedding anniversary. Guests were received at the door by Mrs. SHRADER's sister, Floretta ROSS. Mr. & Mrs. SHRADER greeted their guests in the living room. Each person present then signed his name to a tooled leather register made by Mr. D. W. OLSON. Mr. & Mrs. G. W. WOODROME, parents of Mrs. SHRADER, were introduced to the guests by Mrs. Ken BREWER, daughter of the SHRADERs. Mr. & Mrs. WOODROME celebrated their 48th anniversary June 21, at their home in Scheller, Ill. Refreshments were served on the lawn by Mrs. E. D. BARNES, Mrs. J. W. CRAWSHAW, Mrs. R. G. TROBAUGH and Mrs. D. W. OLSON. Assisting were Mrs. Shelby SHAKE, Mrs. R. W. ENGLISH an Mrs. Nettie TRAMMEL. Mrs. ENGLISH also arranged the numerous bouquets of flowers which decorated the house and lawn. Mr. & Mrs. SHRADER received several beautiful gifts including a board filled with silver coins given by neighbors and friends. Mr. Shelby SHAKE made the board, drilling twenty-five holes in the shape of the numerals 25 into which the coins were placed. Over 125 guests were present.
