Leo HILLER and family spent Sunday with relatives in Vergennes. Ferd THORNTON and family of Pinckneyville spent Sunday with Offa THORNTON and family. Mr. & Mrs. Thos. RICHARDS and family visited Mr. & Mrs. Wallace HARSHA at DuQuoin Sunday. William MORBER of Dupo is ill at the home of Pete MORBER on Gartside street. Mrs. Harry CREATH of Logan highway visited friends here Sunday Mr. & Mrs. Ernest TROBAUGH and Mrs. Ethel LAMER of St. Louis spent the week end with their parents, Mr. & Mrs. W. H. TROBAUGH of North street and attended memorial services Saturday and Sunday, returning to their home Sunday afternoon. Eugene HARNAGEL spent the week end at his home in Jacob. Misses Opal and Lora GRAY were guests of their uncle, Sam GRAY, of Vergennes, Sunday afternoon. Miss Lucille RHYNE of St. Louis was the guest of Mr. & Mrs. Leon EBERSOHL over the week end. Mr. & Mrs. John GRIFFIN of Pinckneyville spent Sunday with Mr. & Mrs. B. F. CRAIN. Val MITCHELL returned to Paducah after spending the week end with his parents, Mr. & Mrs. John MITCHELL. Mr. & Mrs. Joe MITCHELL returned to their home in Paducah after visiting relatives and friends here. William KELLY returned to Paducah where he is employed after spending the week end here with his family. John GUALDONI returned to Paducah where he is employed after spending the week end with relatives. Creath DOWNING and family of Chester, spent Sunday with his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Wilson DOWNING, of Elm street. Mrs. Bert PIERSON and little grand son, Donald McCOY, went to St. Louis Saturday to visit relatives. Mr. & Mrs. Simon LEVY of Jackson, Tenn., spent the week end with Mr. & Mrs. Ernest ROLLAND of Elm street. Mr. & Mrs. Albert BARBER of McClure were the guests of his daughter, Mrs. Beulah ROLLAND, over the week end. Messrs. & Mesdames J. P. BLAYLOCK, Isaac LINDSEY and John JACKSON motored to Pomona Sunday and spent the day with relatives. Claude NOBLE has returned to his home in Mt. Carbon after spending several days in Wood River, Ill., on business. Wm. WOLFF of Hamilton street, who has taken suddenly ill Saturday night with acute indigestion, was somewhat improved this morning. Mr. & Mrs. H. L. MORGAN and children, Charles and Ruth, of East St. Louis, returned home after spending the week end with Mrs. Murray MIFFLIN. Mrs. Charles HUTCH of East St. Louis has spend the past week here visiting Mrs. Mary KING, who returned Wednesday from St. Louis where she was a patient in a hospital several weeks. Mrs. King's many friends will be glad to know she is recovering nicely from her illness. Misses Beulah MAE and Ruby RICHARDS were visitors in DuQuoin Sunday. Henry KIEL, who is employed in the mines at West Frankfort, spent the week end in this city with his family. Miss Emma TOPE of Vergennes spent the week end with Mr. & Mrs. John MITCHELL. Henry STEVENS of East St. Louis, spent the week end here with friends. Mrs. Jake HENRY and daughter, Virginia Lee, spent Sunday in St. Louis with relatives. Mr. & Mrs. Carl WEGNER, of North Twenty-seond street, are moving to East St. Louis. Ben NICKENS and daughter, Mary Evelyn, will leave for East St. Louis, within the next few days to reside. Mr. & Mrs. Cleatus CARLOCK of Oraville, spent Saturday evening here with friends. Sam McNEILL, who has been ill the past several days, was a little improved Monday morning. Mr. & Mrs. George FAGER and daughter, Harriett, of Anna spent Sunday in Murphysboro with relatives. Reverend Frank E. HARRIS went to Champaign Onday to attend a board meeting of the Wesleyan Foundation. Rev. Frank E. HARRIS went to Vergennes to preside at the baccalaureate services that was observed Sunday evening. Mrs. Simon WORTHEN and children, Dorothy and Denny, spent Sunday afternoon in Vergennes with relatives. Miss Marguerite JENKINS, teacher in the Red Bud high school, and Miss Marguerite HELBER spent SUnday in Murphysboro with the former's parents. Sebastien VALLO will return to Champaign to resume his studies at the U of I after spending several days with his parents in this city. Atty and Mrs. Max HANSON, of Pinckneyville, spent the week end in this city visiting with relatives and friends. Robert HIGGERSON, who is employed in West Frankfort, spent the week end here with his family who reside on Logan street. Mr. & Mrs. Ralph JOHNSON of Mt. Forbes ALEXANDER has returned to St. Louis to resume work after enjoying a two weeks vacation in this city the guest of his parents, Mr. & Mrs. W. C. ALEXANDER, of Walnut street. Mr. & Mrs. Webb GRAM and daughters, Phyllis Elaine and Jeanne Frances, and Mr. & Mrs. Oscar KELSEY motored to Giant City Sunday and spent the day. Mr. & Mrs. James TEMPLE and children of Carbondale, spent Sunday with Mrs. Temple's parents, Mr. & Mrs. Clyde KILBY, of North Twenty-second street. Lee LOCKARD was painfully injured Saturday when an iron pipe fell on his head. Mr. Lockard was at work at the country club. Although the injury was painful it was not considered serious. Mr. & Mrs. Harvey YUILL, Mr. & Mrs. Sam PARTINGTON, Misses Mary and Elizabeth YUILL and Thomas RODGERS, member of the mine rescue station of Herrin, spent Sunday in this city the guests of Miss Alberta REDD of Eleventh and Chestnut street. Burl CRAIN made a business trip to East St. Louis Saturday. Roy DIXONand Miss Evelyn NEADSTINE, a teacher in the Harrisburg school, spent the week end in this city the guests of Mr. & Mrs. Harry NEADSTINE of Walnut street. Frances DELANEY has returned home from St. Louis Sunday. Phillip PIERSON of near Ava, was a business visitor here Saturday. Miss Beulah HENRY spent Sunday in St. Louis. KLING of Gartside street, Sunday. Herman DAVITZ, a patient in t. Andre's hospital, remains about the same. Ernie HARSHA of DuQuoin was a visitor in Murphysboro Saturday. Miss Thelma DUETCH of near Oraville spent Sunday with her aunt, and family, Mrs. John KING. Johnnie FREEMAN motored to Vergennes Sunday and spent the day with friends. Olive DELANEY returned to her home here on Minton street after spending Saturday in St. Louis. Miss Ida CHARLES of Herrin was a visitor here Saturday and Sunday. Mr. & Mrs. Harry CUTLER of Harrisburg were the guests of Henry DITZLER and family, over Sunday. Mrs. Etta HARDY has returned home after visiting Rev. and Mrs. W. T. MATHIS, of Waverly, over the week end. Miss Alma HENSON of Grand Tower spent the week end with Misses Opal and Lora GRAY of this city. Mrs. Ralph WORTHEN and daughter, Helen, visited with Mrs. Worthen's uncle, Sam GRAY, of Vergennes, Sunday. Thomas L. JENKINS returned to Blue Island, Ill., Monday after spending several days here with relatives. Miss Evelyn SPILLER, who is teaching in Centralia, Ill., spent the week end here with her parents. Bill HARRISON of Metropolis spent the week end in Murphysboro and Carbondale, the guest of friends. Willard GARDNER, who is employed in Indianapolis, Ind., spent the week end in Murphysboro the guest of his parents Mr. & Mrs. Reynold GARDNER. Mr. & Mrs. I. W. SIMS and family of East St. Louis, spent Sunday in this city the guests of Mrs. Sims' parents, Mr. & Mrs. Jos. P. CHAMBERLAIN and family of North 15th street. A. L. LOLESS is spending several days in Danville, Ill., on business. E. K. PORTER, who is employed in Menard, returned to his duties after spending the week end here and at Carbondale with relatives and friends.
