Grammer, age 88, of Route # 1, Murphysboro, died Thursday, November 23, 1978, at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Mrs. Grammer was a member of Dutch Ridge Baptist Church. She was born on August 17, 1890, in Pomona, to George and Louella (Reynolds) Fleming. She was married to Charles Grammer, who preceded her in death on March 6, 1965. Survivors include five daughter, Lucille Adams, Bernice Allison, Inez Blessing, Gussie Brunty, and Ova Etherton, all of Murphysboro; three sons Nelson Grammer of Alto Pass and Chester and Wilbur Grammer, both of Murphysboro; one sister Hazel Fulmer of Murphysboro; 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 25, 1978, at Denny and Petty Funeral Home in Murphysboro with Rev. Paul Worley officiating, and burial at Dutch Ridge Cemetery.
