RODMAN, FORMER LOCAL RESIDENT, MARRIES MISS MARY LEE RAWLINGS German parachute silk, which the bridegroom obtained while in the quartermaster corps overseas, was fashioned into a bridal gown worn by Miss Mary Lee RAWLINGS at her marriage to John E. RODMAN, Saturday night. Trimmed at the heart-shaped neckline and on three-quarter length sleeves and seed pearls, the gown was simply designed with a fitted bodice, shirred at the waistline, and full-trained skirt. A seed pearl coronet held the full-length veil which was edged in French lace, a RODMAN family heirloom. The bridal bouquet was of carnations, centered with white orchids. The bride was escorted down the candlelighted aisle of the First Congregational Church in St. Louis, by her father, Richard Lee RAWLINGS, who with Mrs. RAWLINGS gave a reception afterward at the Gatesworth Hotel. The Rev. Dr. Ellis Walker HAY officiated. The former Miss RAWLING's parents live at 328 North Bemiston avenue, Clayton, Mo. Leading the bridal procession were four attendants, Mrs. Walter E. ZEMITZSCH, matron of honor; Miss Elizabeth CLAPPER, bridesmaid, Miss Margaret Lee RAWLINGS, younger sister of the bride, junior bridesmaid and little Miss Sandra Lee ZEMITZSCH, flower girl. Escorting the young women were Mr. ZEMITZSCH, best man, William THOMSEN, Charles MILLER and Theodore BAKER. Raymond and James RAWLINGS, cousins of the bride, served as ushers. John E. RODMAN is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Edgar RODMAN, former residents of Murphysboro, now living in Nashville, Tenn. They were in St. Louis for the wedding. The bridegroom, a former Army captain, served in Europe for two years. Following a honeymoon, Mr. & Mrs. RODMAN will live at the Daniel Boone Apartments on Lindell avenue in St. Louis. Among the out of town guests at the wedding were Mr. & Mrs. Walter ARNOLD and Mr. & Mrs. George RODMAN, Jr., of Murphysboro.
