Father JUNGMAN, Mr. Wm. BESSELL of St. Clair Co., to Miss Marie VAN CLUSTER, of this county. The happy couple, with numerous friends, spent the evening at the residence of the bride's father, where a most elegant supper was served, and the night spent in dancing. The affair was a very happy one and will long be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to be present. We join the many friends of the couple in wishing them a happy, long and prosperous life. The cake was excellent, and in the language of our Devil, who after doing justice to the greatest part, "We are too full for utterance." Additional Comments: The October 16, 1923 edition of the paper was a Golden Anniversary edition, which included published articles on the history of Murphysboro as well as articles on current events of the day. Transcribed by Mary Riseling from her grandfather C. E. RISELING's collection of old newspapers.
