Hiles ---------------------- John L. Hiles, one of the most prominent citizens and business men of Yale, passed away at a hospital in Robinson, Monday, following an extended illness. He was born near Hunt City, July 9, 1869, and was 62 years, 9 months and 9 days old at the time of his death. Surviving are his wife; three sons, Lawerence Hiles of Terre Haute, Charles Hiles of Greenup, and Owen Hiles of Yale; one daughter, Mrs. Myrtle McShirley of Boston, Massachusetts; grand-children; four brothers, Allen, Lee and W. V. Hiles of Estherville, Iowa and Perry Hiles of Edwardsville; and five sisters, Mrs. Rose Sweetser of Mason City, Iowa, Mrs. Goldie Souel and Miss Marie Hiles of New York, Mrs. Lena Hiles of California, and Mrs. Ella Costa of Montana; besides many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at the family home Thursday morning at 10:30 o'clock. Interment will be in Cummins cemetery. Hazel Dell lodge A. F. & A. M. will be in charge of the grave.
