Obituary of Margret Barker STONE, Jefferson County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 2000 Misty Flanagan Times Leader Newspaper OBITUARY Margret, daughter of James and Martha Barker, was born near New Haven, Sept. 26, 1831, and departed this life July 8, 1921, at the ripe age of 89 years, 9 months and 12 days. She professed faith in Christ and joined the M. E. church at the age of 17 yrs. She was a faithful christian and a willing worker in the church the remainder of her life. She was united in marriage to W. H. Stone in the year 1853, and to this union was born three children, Ida, America and Justina. Ida and America having proceeded her to the better world. She was left a widow during the Civil War and suffered many hardships. She was again united in marriage to Joseph Logdon, Feb. 15, 1864, and to his marriage was born one child, Josie. She was a devoted mother to three children by her first marriage and three by the last, and all loved her dearly. Our loss is her gain. She leaves to mourn her departure two children-Justina Prunty, living in Oklahoma, and Josie Rhine, with whom she made her home for 31 years; 20 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren; four grandchildren having gone on before her. Oh, how we miss her darling face, she had been with us so long, but we will meet again around the great white throne. Funeral services were conducted at the home by Rev. C. M.
