IN MEMORIAM/OBITUARY OF LEWIS GEORGE REIS

CARL JUNCTION, Mo.--Louis George Reis, 68 years old, died at 2:30 
o'clock Thursday afternoon in his home, 311 North Roney street, 
apparently as a result of a heart attack.

Born June 18, 1890, in Mount Vernon, Ill., Mr. Reis came to Carl 
Junction as a child with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. George Reis, 
as a child.  He was united in marriage to Miss May Elliott, daughter of 
Mr. and Mrs. John W. Elliott, in Carl Junction on June 9, 1912.  They 
had lived here ever since.  She survives.

He was a worker in mining mills in Waco and Chitwood fields.  At the 
time of his death he was custodian of the New Carl Junction high school 
gymnasium.  Mr. Reis was a member of the Carl Junction Baptist church 
and a charter member of the Carl Junction fire department.

Also surviving, besides the widow, are two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Budd 
of Carl Junction and Mrs. LaVerne Miller, 2824 Kentucky avenue, Joplin; 
two brothers, Monroe Reis of Springdale, Ark., and Ira Reis of Kansas 
City; a sister, Mrs. Irene Appleman of Cleburne, Tex., and two 
grandchildren, Carolyn Sue and Charles Wayne Budd, of Carl Junction.

Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the 
Baptist Church in Carl Junction.  The Rev. Charles McBee, pastor, 
officiated.  Burial was in Carl Junction Cemetery under direction of the 
Roney Funeral Service.
