Obituary of George H FRENZ, Jersey County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 1999 Delores Andrews Coleman Jan 2,1964 Frenz George H. Frenz, 81 a retired industrial worker, died at 12:30a.m. Wednesday, in St. Anthony's Hospital where he had been a patient since Dec.6. He had been in failing health for three years. Mr. Frenz had been employed for 30 years at Laclede Steel Co., and later had worked for four years for Olin Mathieson Chemical Corp. He had been retired since 1946. Born at Hoxie Ark., Dec. 18 1882, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George H. Frenz. He had lived in Alton for 60 years and was married here to the former Viola Mae Crawford. Mr. Frenz was a charter and life member of the Westerner Club. Surviving are three sons, George E., Brighton; Glen, Peoria; Harry, Palmyra; two daughters, Mrs Roy Rowland, and Mrs. Preston Stockton, Godfrey; a brother Walter, Alton; two sisters, Mrs. Frieda Dunkelburger, Los Angeles; and Mrs. Joseie Shaw, Alton; seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. His wife, a sister and a brother, died previously. Funeral rites will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in Gent Chapel by the Rev. Eugene Cope. Interment will be in Upper Alton Cemetery.
