Obituary for Mrs Victor HILLMAN, Jersey County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 1999 Delores Andrews Coleman Thurs., Dec. 9, 1965 Final Rites In Alton Today For Mrs. Victor Hillman Final rites for Mrs. Victor Hillman of Hinkley, California, formerly of Jerseyville, will be held this (Thursday) morning at ten o' clock at Staten Funeral Home in Alton. Rev. Lawrence Wagley, pastor of the Methodist Church in Alton, will officiate and burial will be in Valhalla Memorial Park, Godfery. The death of Mrs. Hillman, who was fifty-eight years old, occurred December 3 at Barstow Hospital. She had resided in California the past ten years. She was a daughter of the late Lee and Laura Wiseman Edwards and was born in Jersey County. Surviving her are her husband, one daughter, Vickie Lynn, of Hindley California; two sons, Herschel Andrews of Jerseyville and Wm. L. Andrews of Jacksonville, Fla; two grandchildren; three brothers, Roy Edwards of Jerseyville, Archie Edwards Jacksonville and John Edwards Athensville; and two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Parrot of Glencoe, Mo. and Mrs. Minnie VanVorhees of Colorado. Dec. 8, 1965 Hillman Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in Staten Chapel for Mrs. Nettie L. Hillman, 58, who died Friday at Barstow, California The body of Mrs. Hillman arrived in Alton Tuesday evening and was taken to Staten Chapel where friends may call. The Rev. Laurence Wagley, pastor of First Methodist Church, will officiate at the service. Burial will be in Valhalla Memorial Park. Mrs. Hillman was born Jan. 15, 1907, in Jersey C. a daughter of the late Lee and Laura Edwards. She was a former employee of Olin Industries. She had lived in California for 10 yrs. Survivors are her husband, Victor; a daughter, Vickie Lee; two sons, Herschel Andrews Jerseyville, and William L. Andrews, Jacksonville, Fla., three brothers, Roy John and Archie Edwards, and two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Parrot and Mrs. Minnie Vanvorhees, Missouri. There are two grandchildren.
