Biography of Capt. William Vincent Source History of Jo Daviess County -- 1904 VINCENT, CAPT. WILLIAM, Collector Port of Entry and farmer, Galena, Jo Daviess County, Ill., born in Cornwall, England, Jan. 19, 1826, son of Henry and Sarah (Vincent) Vincent, also natives of Cornwall. Captain Vincent was educated in his native country and came to America in 1837, locating in East Galena, Jo Daviess County, Ill.
