The Buffalo [NY] Express October 8, 1891
Galena, Ill., Oct. 7 - Conrad Peters was killed yesterday by drinking a 
poisonous mixture which he supposed to be whisky. Three companions also drank 
of the mixture and were taken violently ill. One of the men, named McKeague, 
is in a serious condition. Peters, who is a quarry laborer, found the flask 
containing the poison, and drank deeply before offering it to his comrades. He 
died half an hour later in horrible agony.
