Garryowen Priest Dies In Dubuque

The Rev. Wilmer J. Kieffer, 35, pastor of St. Aloysius at Garryowen, died at 
9 a.m. Friday at Mercy hospital in Dubuque.

Rev. Kieffer had been ill for three years. Services were held Monday at 
Dubuque and burial was in the St. Donatus cemetery.

Father Kieffer was born Dec. 4, 1914 in Menominee, Jo Daviess County, 
Illinois and was a graduate of St. Columbkille's high school in Dubuque and 
Loras College. He received his theological training at St. Paul Seminary and 
was ordained June 7, 1941 by the Most Rev. Francis J. L. Beckman in St. 
Raphael's Cathedral. He has been pastor at Garryowen since July, 1949
