Transcribed by Cindy Pegg William Henry Albright was born in 1850 the son of John C. Albright and Letha Simmons. His father, John C. was the son of Luke Albright, a Kentucky farmer, who had six children. Luke died at the age of 84 on his farm in Missouri. Williams' mother, Letha, was the daughter of Wiley Simmons, a Kentucky farmer, who came to Illinois in 1835. Letha was born in 1827 in Kentucky. Her father died at the age of 80 on his farm just outside of Vienna, Illinois. He left eight children, four sons and four daughters. His wife died two years later. John C. Albright settled near Goreville, IL in Johnson County where most of their children were born. He and his wife had ten children: William Henry, Lewis J; Franklin P.; John Thaddeus; James Marshall; and one son who died young; Mary E. wife of Samuel O. McMahan; Emeline wife of James Mohler; Letha Jane wife of A. H. Bass; Amanda M. wife of James Carlton. William Henry Albright married in 1873 to Annett Dugger, daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (McConnell) Dugger from Calloway County, KY where she was born.
