Chicago Biographical Publishing Company 1893 Transcribed by Cindy Pegg Harris Monroe Ridenhower, Sr, was a native of North Carolina who later lived in Vienna township. His son, Rob Roy Ridenhower was sheriff of Johnson County in 1890. Rob was born 14 April 1861 in Goreville Township, IL. Harris Sr. was married to Lavinia Miller in Rowan County, NC. Harris Sr. died in 1869 on his farm south of Vienna, IL. Lavinia and Harris had nine children; Otto Legref; Peninnia Ardanissa; Erastus Kimber; Mary Ann; Harris Monroe, Jr.; Carrie Levina; Addie May; Rob Roy and Fleta. Rob Roy Ridenhower was seven years old when his father died. He lived with his mother up until the time she remarried to George Gibson at which time he began farming for himself. Rob married Miss Alice Carter, of Johnson County, in 1883.
