William Williams, born in Tennessee August 28, 1848, was the son of Levi
and Nellie (Howard) Williams of South Carolina.  He married
November 3, 1870 to Clara B. Compton who died October 3, 1882.
Married second to Alice Compton who was born February 8, 1852 in
Harrison County, Ind.  William had seven children, three by his first wife;
Harry, Ida and Myrtle. Four more by his second wife; Bertha, Edith,
Flossie and Duncan.
