Deed-Johnson Co., IL William Elkins to Fanny Elkins E Half NW qt L27 L12 Recorded third day of July 1824 To all Whom these presents may come greeting. Know ye that I, William Elkins, of Johnson County for the consideration of two hundred dollars to me in hand paid by John Elkins the father and natural guardian of Fanny Elkins the receipt where of I do hereby acknowledge, have bargained and sold unto Fanny Elkins the East half of the North West quarter of Section 27 in Township 12 of Range 2 in Johnson County and State of Illinois, to have and to hold the said East half of the said quarter section of land with the appurtenances unto the said Fanny Elkins, her heirs and assigns forever, in testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this the 27th of April 1819. William (X) Elkins seal N.B. it is to be understood that Fanny's half is to be dowered on the West half by a certain line beginning at certain oak and elm tree of the south line of said quarter section and then running north until it intersect with the north line of said section by a certain oak tree and sugar trees are marked in presence of William Russel, Amy (X) Elkins, Nancy (Gurley) This day personally appeared before me Sally Elkins, wife of William Elkins, and of her own free will and accord acknowledged the within before me this 29th day of Nove 1819.
