William B. Plato, who died at his residence here yesterday, aged 64 years, was one of the most prominent men in the State. He was one of the electors on the Fremont Presidential ticket in 1856, and one of the Lincoln and Hamlin electors in 1860; was one of the original commissioners who built the Illinois Penitentiary at Joliet, and served several terms in the State senate. He was an able lawyer, and has been a resident of the Fox River Valley since 1837.
