Obituary for Mrs. Elizabeth (Schramm) Guempelein ( The Guempelein surname is misspelled throughout the obituary as Gumbelein. I have refrained from putting Sic. on every occurence.) Appeared in an Aurora newspaper shortly after her death on 10 Apr 1921. Mrs. Elizabeth Guembelein Mrs. Elizabeth Guembelein, one of Aurora pioneer women, passed away Sunday evening at 9:30 o'clock at her home, 323 Spring street, aged 85 years and 10 months. She was born in Germany June 6, 1835 and came to America at the age of 18 years. For 65 years she had been a resident of Aurora. Her husband, the late Leonhard G. Guembelein, diied 19 years ago. Two daughters, Mis Laura Guembelein and Mrs. Charles Farrell, both of Aurora, and two sons, William of Tulsa, Okla., and Albert of Kansas City, MO., and 13 grandchildren and three great granchildren survive the deceased. The funeral services will be held from the home in Spring street tomorrow at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Spring Lake cemetery, the Rev. Henry Moser of the First Presbyterian church being in charge of the services.
