Goodwin, well known motorman on the Frove and Douglas avenue car, died suddenly yesterday at his home at 257 Chicago street at the age of sixty-eight years. Since July 20, 1902 Goodwin had been a motorman on Elgin street cars. He had been motorman on the Douglas avenue car line for nineteen years. Last Friday noon, it was necessary for him to leave his duties because of illness. His condition declined until yesterday morning at 7:45 o'clock when he died. Death was attributed to heart trouble. He was born in Pittsfield, Penn., on April 20, 1853 and came with his parents to Illinois one year later. The deceased is survived by two brothers, W.A. Goodwin and F.C. Goodwin of Crystal Lake and one sister, Mrs. Hattie Freye of Pasadena, Calif. He also leaves three daughters Mrs. Carrie Kern of Elgin, Mrs. Myrtle Robinson of Flint, Mich., and Mrs. Hattie Luther of Denver, Colo. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 1:30 o'clock at the Norris chapel. Burial will take place at the Bluff City Cemetery.
