Obituary of Julia S Nofs - Kane County, Illinois Elgin Daily News, Elgin, IL., Saturday, February 10, 1917 Mrs. Julia S. Nofs Mrs. Julia S. Nofs wife of Louis A. Nofs, died at St. Joseph's hospital yesterday afternoon, following an operation performed two weeks ago. She was fifty-one years old, born in Denmark. She had lived in Elgin for many years. She is survived by her husband, one daugher, Mrs. Swan Swanson of Elgin and one son with the U.S. Marine corps in Central America; a brother Christ Peterson of Elgin and two brothers and three sisters in Denmark. She was a member of the Lady Maccabees. The funeral will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock fro the late home of 226 Melrose avenue. Rev. Charles L. Plymate of the Presbyterian church will officiate. Burial will be at Bluff City cemetery. Additional info: Her husband Louis A. Nofs died May 13, 1944 in Spokane County Hospital, Washington. He was buried at Riverside Park Cemetery. At the time of his death his survivors were Mrs. S. J. Swanson, Spokane, and son, Louis E.
