Anderson, 89, of rural Dwight, died Thursday (May 4, 2006) at St. Mary's Hospital, Streator. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the Hager Memorial Home, Dwight. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Dwight. Rev. Pat Morton will officiate. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Dwight. Memorials may be made to the Heritage Manor Activity Fund or First Congregational United Church of Christ. Mr. Anderson was a retired farmer. He was born April 12, 1917, in Dwight, the son of Andrew H. and Eliza Sorensen Anderson. His wife, the former Jane Lewis, whom he married June 6, 1946, in Dwight, died July 18, 2005. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the Royal Order of the Moose. Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Mary Sue and John Ely of Dwight, Connie Kinkade of Malden, Janice and Dave Murphy of Dwight; four sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Donna Anderson, Kenny and Sandy Anderson, Lee and Mary Anderson, and Tom and Molly Anderson, all of Dwight; two brothers, Delbert "Slim" Anderson of Dwight, and Russell Anderson of Cameron, Mo.; one sister, Velda Burger of Jacksonville; 14 grandchildren and three great- grandchildren.
