Visitation 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Brown Funeral Home, Manteno. Services 11 a.m. Friday at the First Presbyterian Church in Manteno. Pastor Chrystal Abbott will officiate. Burial Elmwood Cemetery. Memorials to Hospice of Kankakee Valley, First Presbyterian Church, Manteno, or to the MYBSL-Cal Meyer Field. Dairy farmer and Holstein cattle exporter. Born September 22, 1925, in Peotone Son of Clarence and Hattie Schroeder Meyer. 1st wife, the former Doris Lutes, whom he married September 29, 1946, in Peotone, died November 4, 1998. One of the original organizers of the Manteno Youth Baseball Program. Citizen of the Year in 2001; Coached youth baseball in Manteno for more than 50 years and at Lewis University for 20 years; Director of the Kankakee County Fair for 20 years; Former member of the Manteno Community Unit School District 5 Board of Education. Member of the First Presbyterian Church in Manteno, where he was a former trustee. Member and former director of the Illinois Holstein Association; Associated Milk Producers Inc. (AMPI), and the American Baseball Coaches Association. Avid senior golfer and White Sox fan. Enjoyed traveling with his wife, Irma, and spending time at their home in Naples, Florida. Surviving: Wife, the former Irma Dralle, of Peotone, whom he married September 22, 2001; 3 sons and daughters-in-law: Ron and Lois Meyer of Manteno, Jim and Ann Meyer of Fairbury, Dan and Amy Meyer of Schaumburg; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Irish O'Reilly of Manteno; 4 stepsons and stepdaughters-in-law: David and Cheryl Dralle of Peotone, Greg and Karen Dralle of Kankakee, Brad and Colleen Dralle of Beaufort, SC, John and Lisa Dralle of Bourbonnais; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; 17 stepgrandchildren and 14 stepgreat-grandchildren.
