Obituary of Alred JOHNSON, Kendall County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 2000 Wanda Reed OBITUARY OF ALFRED JOHNSON Alfred Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nels Johnson, was born April 22nd. 1893 at Plano, Illinois and passed away at the Aurora City Hospital, August 11th, 1928, at the age of 35 years, 4 months and 20 days. Death was due to scalds received by an explosion of a steam thresher, Saturday morning at 9:30 North of Plano At the age of eighteen years, he united with the Presbyterian Church at Waterman. His entire life was spent around Waterman and Plano. On December 31, 1913, he was united in marriage to Miss Alta Ellen (Allen) of Waterman, Illinois. To this union were born three children. Howard Nels, now 13 years old, Florence Idell, 10, and Arthur Laverne, 8 years old. He has always been a kind and loving husband, father, son, and brother. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, children, father, mother and three brothers, Hans Johnson of Cicero, Albert Johnson of Waterman, and Martin Johnson of Plano. Three sisters, Mrs. John Darling of Waterman, Mrs Lee Darling of Hinckley, and Mrs. Stanton Schumaker of Plano, besides many other relatiaves and a host of friends. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 at the home and at 2 o'clock at the Scandinavian Lutheran church. Rev. Osmond Johnson of Millbrook delivered the address. Vocal music was furnished by Mr. and Mrs. Frank Young and Mr. and Mrs Walter Swanquist, with Miss Jeannie Henrickson as the pianist. The Misses Florence Eggleston, Hazel Greagory and Olive Heller took charge of the floral offerings, which were many and beautirul. Eight cousins of the deceased Christ and Alfred Olson of Hinckly, Peter and Alfred Olson of Little Rock, Marinus Olson of Plano, Walter Olson of Yorkville acted as pall bearers. Interment was made in Plano cemetery. The church was filled to capacity with sorowing relatives and friends including a number from out of town. Mr and Mrs. Martin Oleson and family, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Johnson of Waterman, Mr and Mrs Christ Olson and daughter, Alfred Olson, Mrs Caroline Larsen, Mrs Ern Dillenback, and Mr. and Mrs. Pete Hove, and family of Hinkley, Mrs Harve Dittenban of St. Charles, Mr. and Mrs. Christ Jensen and family, Mr. and Mrs. Iver Olson and family of Aurora, Mr. and Mrs. Christ Olsen and son, Fred Goodale and Mr. Green of Brisol, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Christensen and Mrs. Ralph Moutray of Sugar Grove, Miss Agnes Olson and Mr. and Mrs Walter Olson of Yorkville. The entire community extends their heartfelt sympathy to his family and loved ones in their hour of sadness.
