Obituary of Florence JOHNSON, Kendall County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 2000 Wanda Reed FLORENCE JOHNSON Florence Johnson, 16, passed away, Monday morning, at the DeKalb Sanitarium, where she has been a patient for the past three months. Florence was the daugher of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Johnson, both of whom preceeded her in death. During her second year of high school, where she was an unusually good student, loved by all who knew her, she was forced to quit school. Since that time she has been confined to her home for the most part. She fought bravely to regain her health but all was in vain. The passing away of this sweet, innocent young life because of her tuberculosis, which recently took her mother, is one of the tragedies of this life. She leaves to mourn her passing two brothers, Howard and Arthur, her grandparents, MR. and Mrs. Nels Johnson, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the Cooper Funeral Home, Wednesday afternon, March 5 at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. E. Lester Stanton in charge. The music was furnished by one of the Florences schoolmates, Miss Lorane Burson, who sand a vocal solo. Burial was in Plano Cemetery.
