Another one of my famous inserts must be made at this point. John Henry and his wife Cornelia had two children whom were buried in Knoxville, Illinois. They had three sons that grew to maturity. Those sons were William Phillip, Albert Burdett (whom was named after a close friend of theirs, and Cornelia's sister Sarah eventually married him); and Charles W. Ewing. There are other Cornelia's that are going to pop up in this family history, so be careful with which generation you are studying. Our Cornelia Ewing's, (wife of John Henry Ewing) mother was named Cornelia Maria Miller; she married Gilbert Weeks; thus there are two Cornelia's already. Then Charles W.Ewing had two daughters, one whom they named Cornelia Ewing, and was married to Tracy Simpson in El Dorado, Kansas. We have discovered that many of the Cornelia's were also named Nellie for short. In tracking through the next generations, I am also going to try and include the FOUTCH family. The FOUTCH family came into the Ewing family by the marriage of William Phillip Ewing to Elizabeth De Mary Foutch also from Sangamon Co., Illinois. Again, there are many overlapping names, so watch your dates as you wade through the next area of generations to come. You will also be reading pages of the BIRTHDAY DIARY, kept by one of the EWING family members, and belongs to the family of Mrs. Caroline Ewing Short, descendant of Albert Burdett Ewing. It will help prove the Cemetery inscriptions and the Church inscriptions, as well as the Obituaries, and the tombstones themselves.
