Notes about the FOUTCH Family, Knox County, Illinois This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Susan A Wolfe Dear Readers, The Wills that are inserted here are extremely difficult to read, let alone translate. I have tried to go by dates, names and counties, but some of the writing is blurred, some is so old that it won't scan, and I am not sure of which generation we are in at times. The sequence of the Foutch family goes, Hugh 1635 in France, Abraham, John, which I have a Will for, Thomas, John which I have a will for, so there is a problem in putting them in order. I do hope they are correct, and I do hope you will forgive me for errors that have been made. At this stage of the writing, I am getting tired, and trying to sort all of this is quite trying. I have done my best to give you some information to read and enjoy, lets hope it is correctly positioned in time and place. I have started with the Foutch side of the Family, and there will be a small part of the Smith side, which was Lizzie's Mother's side of the family. But I never could find much on this, and never pursued it, but after reading it, and meeting up with Judy Brown, I see where the names came from. There is a Smith Foutch in our family and a Smith Ernest Foutch in Judy's family. We accidentally ran into each other on the Internet, and have had more fun trying to piece this together, so I put Judy's family in here since her G Grandfather and our G Grandmother were brother and sister. The Foutch line is rather complicated, and you will just have to read it and enjoy what you can or want to. You may print out the articles if you like, so that you can read them. They were found in the old Ewing Bible, and they are so old and yellowed, that it was difficult to correct them and enlarge them where someone could read them on the screen. So feel free to print those if you like. All other materials are considered copyrighted by the Ewing/Breece/Foutch/Weeks familis, and are not for re- production in any way.
