Caleb MURRAY, Virginia native, m. in Old Dominion to Amelia Davis, a cousin of Jefferson Davis, President of the Confederacy, and also native of Virginia.They lived in West VA., then Ohio a short time. On to Indiana for 2 or 3 yrs. Subsequently they settled in Knox. Co. ILL and in fall of 1837 went to Polk Co. Mo. Mr. MURRAY d. near Des Moines, IA. in 1847. Amelia lived 15 yrs. longer and d. 20 March, 1862 in Paris Twshp., Linn Co. KS. Of their 13 children, 5 daughters and 8 sons, Wm. H. MURRAY, 5th in birth order, was b. in Lafayette Co. Ind. 14 August, 1832. Wm. m. Miss Agnes D. ROWE, (b. in Illinois, 20 March, 1836) on 18 January, 1857, in Paris Twshp. Linn Co. KS. They had 9 children. Mary E., wife of William(the copy ends here).
