 Galesburg, The Register-Mail Thu, Oct 06, 1955
George Owen Stump, 79, of 265 E. South St., died today at 12:05 a.m. in Cottage
Hospital, where he was taken Wednesday after-noon. He was born Oct. 19, 1875, at
Hermon and spent his childhood at St. Augustine. As a millwright, he was
employed at Moline, De-troit, Mich., and Galesburg, hav-ing resided here 26
years. He retired 17 years ago. He was a member of Corpus Christi Cath-olic
Church. Surviving are a sister, Miss Lucy Stump of Galesburg, and two nieces.
Funeral services will be con-ducted Saturday at 8:15 a.m. in Corpus Christi
Church, with burial in St. Augustine Cemetery. Friends may call Friday at the
Foley Mortuary, where prayers will be recited at 8 p.m.
