Walbaum, president of the Galesburg Fuel Company, died suddenly on a passenger train on his way here from Mendota this afternoon. It was not discovered that he was dead until Altoona was reached, for it was thought that he was asleep. Mr. Walbaum was formerly a resident of Chicago and built the North Side water works. Since 1868 he has operated large quarries near Gladstone, and for years was president of the Walbaum Stone and Quarry Company. As a contractor he was furnished material for many western cities. He was 67 years old. He leaves a widow and five children, all living here save one son, Charles, of Chicago.
