This is a photo of William Phillip Ewing who was born in Knoxville, Illinois 
in 1861. In 1880 he removed with his parents, John Henry Ewing and Cornelia 
Weeks Ewing both from Knoxville, to El Dorado, Kansas. He spent a brief few 
years in South Texas with his son and family John William Ewing. There he died 
in McAllen, Texas and was returned to be buried in El Dorado, Kansas. His wife 
of many years also hailed from Illinois. She was Elizabeth DeMary Foutch of 
Sangamon County, Illinois. They had five children who all lived and died in 
McAllen, Texas.
