Aged Resident Take by Death

Mrs. Kathrina Beckman died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Miller, in 
Libertyville on Wednesday, April 2, 1930 at the age of 89 years and nine months.

Mrs. Beckman and her late husband, Bernhardt Beckman, immigrated to America from 
Munster, German in 1866. They came to Chicago where they were married and lived 
until 1876, when they moved to Lake county, purchasing a farm near Libertyville.

In 1901 they sold the farm, retiring from active work and moved to Waukegan. Mr. 
Beckman died soon after, passing on April 22, 1903.

Mrs. Beckman is survived by six children: Henry J. Beckman, 430 Steele court, 
Waukegan; Mrs. Mary Miller, 433 Brainard avenue, Libertyville; Mrs. Della 
Heiting, 101st street, Chicago; George Beckman, Crown Point, Ind.; Bernard T. 
Beckman Lowell, Ind; and Mrs. Kathryn Nauta, Waukegan. A daughter, Christina, 
died in infancy. She is also survived by 36 grandchildren and 29 great-
grandchildren.

Mrs. Beckman will be buried on Friday morning at 10 o'clock from the St. Joseph 
church, Waukegan, the funeral cortege leaving Libertyville at 9:15 a.m. 
Throughout her lifetime, Mrs. Beckman was a faithful member of this church. Her 
grandson, John Beckman, who is studying for the priesthood and will soon receive 
holy orders at the Catholic Seminary at Cincinnati, O., will assist the Rev. 
Father Mesher, pastor of St. Joseph church and the Rev. Father Nieles of 
Libertyville at the solemn high mass. Two of her great grandsons will act as 
altar boys at the mass. Interment will be made in St. Mary's cemetery
