M. J. BLANCK Memorial services for S/Sgt. Merrill J. Blanck were conducted by the Rev. Glenn M. Garber, pastor of the Libertyville Presbyterian church, in the Wauconda Federated church, last Sunday afternoon. Sgt. Blanck was killed in a plane crash in England on May 10. He was buried with full military honors in the American Military cemetery in Cambridge, England. Sgt. Blanck was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Blanck. He was born in Wauconda on Sept. 15, 1918. He enlisted in the army on April 29, 1941. After two years training in this country he was sent to England as a parachute rigger. A letter from his commanding officer to his mother states that Sgt. Blanck was cheerful and precise in his work, and commended his service. A brother, Francis A., is stationed in the South Pacific.
