Pridy Davies, Aged Resident of Warren, Is Dead Warren Township lost its oldest resident on Thursday of last week in the death of John Pridy Davies, 93 years old, which occurred at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E. Merton Jones of Grays Lake, with whom he had made his home for the past 30 years. Mr. Davies was born October 30, 1839 at Cresselly, Pembrokshire, South Wales. He was one of a large family which for eight generations had lived on the same estate. In his native country he was what is known as a "gentlemen farmer" on the estate and had many people working under his direction. In 1880 he came with his family to America, where two of his brothers and a sister had already made their homes and settled in Lake County, where he took up farming. His wife died in 1882 and a number of years later he went to live with his daughter. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. E. J. Davis of Libertyville and Mrs. Em Merton Jones of Grayslake; and by five grandchildren and four great- grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Warren Cemetery chapel, Rev. C. Arthur Jevne pastor of the Plymouth parish officiating. Interment was made in the family lot in Lakeside Cemetery at Libertyville.
