Mr. DeMuth died at 12 o'clock noon, after an illness that dated from Saturday, old age being the only complaint. Yesterday Mr. DeMuth ate his dinner with the rest of the family and his death was in a measure a shock. He was eighty-five years old last January. The survivors are Mrs. J. A. Martin of Belvidere street, John DeMuth of Wadsworth, Mrs. David Welch of Waukegan, Mrs. Peter Meyer of Rockefeller, and Mrs. Stewart. The last named, with her husband and family, made her home with the late Mr. DeMuth. Mr. DeMuth was born in Prussia, Germany, eighty-five years ago. He has been in America for over sixty years, coming first to Buffalo, and in Waukegan for 53 years. He was long since enabled to retire from active life. There is no date set for the funeral. The late Mr. DeMuth was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic church.
