Dillion Dies at His Home in Volo Christopher Dillion, aged 74 years, and a lifelong resident of Lake county, died in the old homestead on the Dillion farm, near Volo, at 12 noon last Thursday. Death is believed to have been due to old age. The deceased, who was born on a farm south of Volo in 1852 and who resided on a farm east of Volo for many years, was prominently known in that section of the county. Although he had never aspired to high public office he was active for many years in politics in his community and at various times in his life held positions as road commissioner, member of district school board and similar offices. He retired from the farm some years ago leaving its operation to his only child, William Dillon, while he and Mrs. Dillion took up their residence in Round Lake. Following the death of Mrs. Dillion last October he has declined rapidly in health and desirous of passing his last days on the old farm, he went to the home of his son four weeks ago. Besides the son, a sister, Mrs. R. V. Fitch of Waukegan, also survives.
