Earlier Tuesday, Mrs. Haas suffered either a heart or an asthmatic attack in their home and, after being revived by the Zion fire department, was taken to the Zion Community hospital. Her husband, a retired North Shore line conductor, accompanied her. Moments later, Mrs. Haas apparently suffered another attack. Her husband was told his wife was dying. He collapsed on the floor of her room. Dr. Richard Ekstrand said both Haas and his wife apparently succumbed at the same moment. The couple, married 42 years, had five sons.
