F. Redgate, of Wauconda, with whom he made his home. In the fall, Mr. Hammond suffered a fractured hip. He was cared for by Dr. J. A. Ross, of Wauconda, who had him removed to the hospital here. Due to his age, his condition remained critical Saturday night, Sunday and Monday and up to the time of death Tuesday morning. Mr. Hammond was born in DuPage county and in his earlier years was a farmer. He has been a resident of Lake county, living at Wauconda for the past thirty years. Mrs. Hammond preceded him in death several years ago. Since then he has made his home with Mrs. Redgate. He has been an invalid for a number of years. Besides his daughter, Mrs. Redgate, he is survived by a sister, Kate Barnard, of Pasadena, Calif., and a brother, Rolin, of Seattle, Wash. Funeral arrangements had not been arranged Tuesday morning due to the roads being blocked by the heavy snowfall of Monday. The body was held at the Ray undertaking rooms, pending its removal to Wauconda.
