Hinkle, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ila E. Hinkle of Waukegan, was killed in Viet Nam two weeks before his tour of duty was to have ended, the Defense Department said yesterday. Specialist Hinkle, a graduate of Zion-Benton High School, entered the service in June, 1970, and was sent to Viet Nam on Nov. 5, 1970. He was killed Oct. 21. His tour of duty had been scheduled to end last Friday. He is survived by his parents; two sisters; a brother; and his grandmother.
