Waukegan News Sun - June 17, 1948
Gustaf A. Holmquist, 84, owner of the Holmquist department store at 707 North
av., Waukegan, died yesterday in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Bierer, on
Grand av., west of Waukegan.  He had been in business in Waukegan for 40 years,
during 20 of which he operated the delicatessen at 203 S. Genesee st.  He is
survived by another daughter, Mrs. Ivy Mortensen, and a son, Axel.  Services
will be held tomorrow at 2:20 p.m., in the chapel at 1521 Washington st.,
Waukegan.
