WOMAN DIES AT 105 LEAVES 105 PROGENY

Made Trip From Chicago To Waukegan by Water When Settling There - Of Irish Birth.


Waukegan, Ill., Feb. 25 - Mrs. Ellen Jenkison, 105 years old, died at her home
last night of old age.  She was born in Ireland and came to this county
sixty-one years ago and settle at Waukegan.  She came from Brookly to Chicago by
rail and went from Chicago to Waukegan by boat, there being no railroad between
the two cites at that time.

She was the widow of John Jenkinson, who died a number of years ago, and the
mother of seven children.  She had forty-four grandchildren, and four
great-grandchildren.  There were five generations in the family.

For many years she was the oldest resident of Lake County, Ill., and was active
in the affairs of the Episcopal church until two years ago.
