OLD COUNTY RESIDENT SUCCUMBS SATURDAY

Mrs. Nicholas Kretschmer, 68, a lifelong resident of Lake County, died Saturday 
night at the St. Therese hospital, Waukegan, where she had been suffering from 
pneumonia.

The deceased was born at Fox Lake, and 11 years ago moved to Eighteenth street, 
North Chicago where she lived up to the time of her illness.

Surviving are the widower, Nicholas Kretschmer, two daughters Mrs. Leo Hendee of 
Round Lake, and Mrs. A. A. Grandy, of Libertyville; three sons: William, of 
Libertyville, John of North Chicago, and Frank of Detroit; one brother, Nicholas 
Schmidt, of Chicago; three sisters: Mrs. Catherine Frost, of Volo, Mrs. Anne 
Stadtfield, of Waconda, and Mrs. Susie Williams, of Chicago; 12 grandchildren, 
and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held from the Holy Family church in North Chicago at 9 
o'clock Tuesday morning, with burial at St. Joseph's cemetery in Round Lake.
