AGED FARMER DIES AT NEWPORT HOME
     John Anthony Leable died last night at his farm home at Taylor Grove in 
Newport Township. He had lived there 46 years, having come here from Austria 
where he was born in 1858.
     Surviving are his wife, Lena and seven living children, Mrs. Martha 
Cashmore, Fred, Edward, Albert and Frank Leable, Mrs. Minnie Anderson and Mrs. 
Inez Tergan. One son, George, preceded him in death.
     Surviving sisters are Mrs. Mary Wagner and Mrs. Maggie Gleason of 
Waukegan, Mrs. Marcus Hoffman of Millburn, Mrs. George Sheldon of Grayslake 
and Mrs. Mike Lieber of Wadsworth, Mrs. Charles Sheldon and Mrs. Edward Drury 
of Grayslake.
     Mr. and Mrs. Leable celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last June 
10.
     The body will rest at the residence with the funeral from there Monday 
afternoon at 2 o'clock to the Methodist church at Rosecrans. Interment will be 
in the family lot at Mount Rest cemetery.
