J. Ostrander died at her home on Grand Avenue, Monday evening at 9:15 o’clock. Everance A. Ostrander was born at Pompey, Onondaga County, N. Y. in 1833. She lived in Pompey until 1846, when she came west with her parents who located at Bristol, Wisconsin. She attended the Fowler seminary at the later place, after which she taught school for a number of years. After her father’s death she removed to Libertyville where she met Mr. Ostrander. They were married at Waukegan by Rev. Wright, of the Episcopal Church March 10, 1862. After their marriage they lived at Libertyville three years, then moved to Benton, lived there one year and then came to Waukegan, where they have resided since. Mrs. Ostrander has been a member of the M. E. Church for over thirty years, also a member of the Relief Corps for a number of years. Mr. and Mrs. Ostrander had one child, Lillian, who died three years ago. Her husband, one grandchild, also a nephew, Allen Brown, who has made his home with them since he was a child and a sister, Mrs. C. C. Neuman, are the nearest relatives remaining.
